Ophthalmology Intern, NorthStar VETS' flagship hospital in Robbinsville Township, NJ

NorthStar VETS' flagship hospital in Robbinsville Township, NJ, houses over 50 specialty and emergency doctors in our state-of-the-art 33,000 square foot facility. Our ophthalmology service currently has two board-certified ophthalmologists. The goal of this one-year specialty internship is to better prepare and support the individual for an ophthalmology residency.

 

Program Dates: 07/13/2026 - 07/13/2027

 

Our ophthalmology intern gains extensive clinical experience with ophthalmic examination, basic ophthalmic surgical skills, efficient management of a high caseload of patients, and excellent communication with clients and referring veterinarians. Didactic instruction includes monthly Gelatt rounds and bimonthly journal club with a cooperating university ophthalmology service.

 

The ophthalmology intern works four days during the week on our ophthalmology service and one day a week on our emergency service. This shift will be either at our main location in Robbinsville or one of the satellite locations. This shift will likely be a weekend shift.

Obtaining NJ State License prior to their start date is required, these fees are reimbursed by the hospital.
