One-Year Internship, University of Pennsylvania’s Ryan Veterinary Hospital

The University of Pennsylvania’s Ryan Veterinary Hospital welcomes applications for a one-year internship in veterinary ophthalmology.  The intern will receive clinical training under the mentorship of a team of diplomates of the American and European Colleges of Veterinary Ophthalmologists, and will work alongside two residents.  Applicants should submit their CV, a letter of intent, and three letters of recommendation to Mary Lassaline DVM, PhD, Dipl ACVO, c/o Lee Fonfield at fonfield@vet.upenn.edu.  

 

  • Application Deadline: January 5, 2026; applications will be considered until position filled.

  • Program Dates: July 13, 2026 – July 14, 2027

  • Salary: $38,500

  • Employment Requirements: Applicants must be a graduate of an AVMA-accredited school and have completed a 1-year rotating internship.  Emergency duty requires being able to arrive at hospital within 30 minutes of being called.

  • Program Eligibility: US Citizens or Permanent Residents  

  • Annual Leave and Benefits:  Ten days vacation,10 days sick leave.  Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance available.
