Residency Program in Comparative Ophthalmology – Kansas State University

Kansas State University Veterinary Health Center is accepting applications from qualified individuals for a three-year ophthalmology residency.  The objectives of the program are to provide advanced clinical training and experience in clinical ophthalmic research.  The Ophthalmology Service is supported by two board certified ophthalmologists and two dedicated staff, in addition to two to three house officers (specialty interns and residents). The residency is further supported by board certified faculty in large and small animal medicine and surgery, anesthesiology, dermatology, cardiology, oncology (medical and radiation), zoological/exotics medicine, and diagnostic imaging. The VHC has an excellent case load and offers exposure to all domestic species as well as exotics.

Dates: July 15, 2024-July 14, 2027

Deadline: March 15, 2024 or until the position is filled

Salary: $47,987

Prerequisites: One-year rotating internship or equivalent experience.

1. Curriculum Vitae (including class rank in veterinary school).

2. Official transcripts and grade point average from all post-secondary institutions (veterinary schools) attended.

3. Three Letters of Reference - Letters should be submitted electronically by the individuals writing the letters, not forwarded by the applicant.

4. Letter of Intent - A personal statement describing background, reasons for applying to the residency and career goals.

The successful applicant must apply for a Kansas Veterinary Institutional License.
