NorthStar VETS is seeking applicants for a one-year internship in our Ophthalmology Department. NorthStar VETS is a busy privately-owned 24-hour veterinary specialty hospital that spans 3 locations in central New Jersey, offering comprehensive specialty services, on site MRI, CT, extracorporeal therapy, and 24-hour emergency care. Our ophthalmology interns gain extensive clinical experience with ophthalmic examination, basic ophthalmic surgical skills, efficient management of a high caseload of patients, and excellent communication with clients and referring veterinarians. Didactic instruction includes monthly Gelatt rounds and biweekly journal club with a cooperating university ophthalmology service.  The ophthalmology intern works one day a week for our emergency service. Interested individuals should submit a letter of intent, a minimum of 2 letters of recommendation, veterinary school transcript, proof of licensure, and Curriculum Vitae. Licensure in the State of New Jersey is required but can be obtained after the selection process is complete. Preferential consideration will be given to those candidates who have completed a one year rotating internship.

Benefits package includes Health and Professional Liability Insurance, 2 weeks’ vacation, and Continuing Education allowance. Annual salary $65,000.
