RESIDENCY IN COMPARATIVE OPHTHALMOLOGY AT IOWA STATE UNIVERSITY

Iowa State University’s Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center (ISU LVMC) Ophthalmology Service welcomes applications from qualified individuals for a 3-year ABVO approved residency beginning July 15, 2027. There are currently 2 ACVO diplomates and 1 ECVO diplomate (ABVO approved) in direct support of residency training along with 2 dedicated ophthalmology technicians. Residents (3 total) participate in clinical rounds, research, seminars, journal club, image review, surgical practice, and various departmental academic programs (including student teaching). The program is designed to fulfil the ABVO residency requirements and to help prepare residents for ABVO board certification.

Requirements:

  • DVM or equivalent degree

  • Completion of a one-year internship or equivalent clinical experience upon employment start date

  • United States/Canadian/Mexican citizens or United States permanent residents
