Ophthalmology Internship – University of Pennsylvania

OPHTHALMOLOGY INTERNSHIP – UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA

The University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine is accepting applications for a one-year internship in veterinary ophthalmology.  Our ophthalmology internship program emphasizes clinical training, teaching and research under the guidance of a supportive team of diplomates of the American and European Colleges of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (ACVO, ECVO). The successful applicant will join two ophthalmology residents based in Philadelphia at the Matthew J. Ryan Veterinary Hospital, the University of Pennsylvania’s small animal facility. 

Position date: July 15, 2024-July 14, 2025

Application deadline: Preference given to applications submitted by 12pm EST November 13, 2023 but applications accepted until position filled.

Requirements:

·         DVM or equivalent degree

·         veterinarian in good standing in any US state or jurisdiction

·         one-year rotating internship or equivalent experience

·         proof of current rabies prophylactic immunization

Applicants should submit their CV, a letter of intent, and three letters of recommendation to Mary Lassaline DVM, PhD, DiplACVO c/o Lee Fonfield at fonfield@vet.upenn.edu.  Following review of applications, a select number of applicants will be invited for interviews (in person or via video conferencing).  An offer will be extended on EST January 29, 2023 following ORCA residency decisions.
