Veterinary Eye Institute - Gainesville:  Comparative Ophthalmology Residency Position

Veterinary Eye Institute is accepting applications from qualified individuals for a residency position in comparative ophthalmology at our Gainesville, Florida location. 

Start: July 15th, 2024 

Salary: $70K  

Benefits:     Health, Dental, Vision and Short-term Disability Insurance available, MedVet paid Life and Long-term Disability Insurance, Health Savings Account match, Employee pet discount, Uniform allowance, Discretionary Funds of $7,500 total over 3 years  

Vacation:   2 weeks per year 

Post-Residency Commitment:  3 years in a VEI or MedVet location to be determined in years 2-3 of Residency 
Application Process: 
All applicants must hold a DVM degree and have completed an internship or have comparable practice experience. 
Ophthalmology residency, for eligible applicants, will be 3 years in length (July 2024 – July 2027).

Applicants for VEI’s residency program will be required to: 
- Provide veterinary school transcripts. 
- Provide 2 letters of recommendation. 
- Submit an updated Curriculum Vitae. 
- Submit a Letter of Intent describing your reasons for applying for a residency, background, and career goals. 
- Interview in person or video conference with the VEI team. 
- Fulfill ABVO Resident Criteria as outlined in the ABVO Policies and Procedures. The prospective resident is highly encouraged to review these policies in detail.  

- Obtain Florida veterinary license
