ACVO Announces its New Interactive, ‘As Live’, On-line Conference Format for 2020
This innovative on-line event will provide ‘Live’ Credit CE (pending RACE approval, tentatively pre-approved). Plan to: text or video chat in real time with speakers and poster session presenters, learn and explore in our interactive exhibit hall, watch residency presentations, and peruse opportunities in the career booths. The ‘as live’ conference will be broadcast in real time according to a firm schedule, daily for 5-6 hours over five days (view current schedule). Can't make it live or miss a day? No worries. All content will be available for on-demand access promptly after each session ends, and for up to two weeks. We warmly invite you to participate in this online event and encourage you to read on…
ACVO Conference content will continue to provide attendees with high-level veterinary ophthalmology education. Our Keynote, Residents’ Workshop, and progressive In-Depth presenters have generously agreed to pre-record and attend the session for comment when possible. Expect to receive a fun welcome packet in the mail filled with conference goodies! Your printed proceedings book, "Virtual" fun run shirts, sponsor outreach items, along with a few surprises, will be delivered to your home or office.
Interactivity abounds. On the social aspect we are going to include moderated Q&A text chats during speaker sessions, and are looking into a virtual fun run to show off your shirts. The Planning Committee is considering post-meeting optional Zoom sessions that may host interactive round-table or speaker-hosted discussions and perhaps even a social event (these would be non-credit). A raffle will be sponsored with three fantastic prizes, all you need to do is sign into the virtual sessions at least once daily!
Have a residency program to promote? Residency programs will be able to promote their programs and host a live text chat.
Have a career position to offer? The Career Fair is morphing into an interactive ‘Career Booth’ format where you can download materials, view videos and live text chat. This will be located in the virtual exhibit hall.
Visit our exhibitors and sponsors to live chat and just say hi! You will be able to check out their promotions and video information, request a private text or video chat, and drop a calendar notice on your phone so you won’t forget! Our sponsors will be offering special deals and discounts during the show which would only be advertised in their custom booth . Sponsors will also host a raffle for three great items, valued at $400-$1,000 each…these are not discounts and are not tied to product sales. All you need to do is visit the exhibit hall at least once daily over 5 days and you’re in!
Winners of the Manuscript Awards will also be announced…we’re hoping live.

Pre-registration has re-launched, rates change after August 1st and don’t forget to order your fun run shirt early! Abstract presenters must still register to present. Registration rates have been dropped to 2018 levels.
