Dr. Nili Kahane

Roxy is an 8.5y miniature Schnauzer who initially presented on Sep. 2017 for acute buphthalmos OS. No relevant history. On examination - intra ocular structures could not be assessed due to corneal opacity. ocular US - retinal detachment with hyperechoic material beneath and all over the eye - enucleation was preformed by the rDVM (unfortunately the eye was not sent for histopathology).

The dog has no other clinical/systemic signs (since sep. 2017).

We can not understand what can be the origin of the lenticular/iris abscess. We've seen this before but always secondary to direct lenticular injury. For sure there was none in thus case.  Due to the history of the left eye we suspect a hematogenic origin,  but never seen this as a focal intra ocular abscess.

In our region we have as far as fungii goes - crypto and aspergillosis., but there are no systemic or neurological signs.
