Veterinary Vision is seeking a new ophthalmologist to join our team. Our practice has been growing for over 25 years, and there are plenty of exciting opportunities! We currently employ five ophthalmologists, three of whom are owners. There is always at least one owner on duty; issues are handled promptly and this helps the practice run smoothly. Our two facilities, (San Francisco and San Carlos, 27 miles apart), are nearly identical, and communicate via a customized online computer program. We draw from an immense population base, have a dedicated group of referral hospitals, and are very busy. Equipment is modern, plentiful, regularly serviced, and replaced promptly as needed. The customized computer program handles all clinic business, including paperless patient records, referral letters, client communication, scheduling, inventory, and accounting. The online feature allows convenient remote access.

The work schedule is flexible, and four days are considered full time. We are extremely efficient and very well staffed, thus most days run smoothly. We nearly always leave work right on time, and the on-call schedule is minimal. The staff consists of managers, RVTs, and assistants, all trained via a customized task list system. Training is administered by managers and monitored by the practice owners. This detailed approach provides an ideal staff, perfectly suited to the needs of the clinic, and lets the doctors be doctors.

We provide an ideal job environment for a new ophthalmologist, with plenty of collegiality, back up and oversight as needed. Between the four doctors, we provide decades of experience and are eager to share. We would also welcome an experienced ophthalmologist to join our group and bring their own ideas. For those who want more control and interest in the business, ownership potential is definitely available.

The doctors work closely together and communicate liberally. We meet weekly for rounds, collaborate routinely on cases, and shape hospital policy together. Once per week we have “grand rounds”; pets with interesting conditions are dropped off for several hours, so we can examine and discuss them as a group. We like to take excellent care of our patients!

Salary potential is excellent, based on experience and individual production. We offer an attractive fringe benefit program that includes a Profit Sharing Plan and 401K with matching program.
